Re-living a trip, Circle ’round the house, Turning lights off, Turning lights on. A step back in time, I let loose all my cares.
It shows the wear Of Love and Treasured memories, Slowly decaying But no velveteen rabbit transformation Awaits, Just the rag heap.
I watch the people And things Dash past, Speeding darts Parting And flowing to either Side, Surreal And cartoonish, Half glimpsed, My attention on the road And these words.
The child’s plaintive Cry, Echos past the dark outline In the street, Looking for acceptance And love, Finally granted.
